The Jazz Accordion

Complete Book

A four-handed piece, this book explores the new field of jazz accordion. The final method is articulated in three parts. The first one is dedicated to basic techniques such as scales structure, arpeggios, the independence of fingers, the thumb passage. The second part deals with many topics of functional harmony such as the use of 7th chords with the respective rivoltos, the practice of cadenzas II- V- I, voicings, modes, special scales. The third and last part is about the creative application of the whole technical- theoretical skills achieved through the execution of standard jazz and blues extemporization. Since the book is focused on a technical approach to accordion, there is little space for a deep analysis of harmony and structures.
